I have attended him professionally, and am able to state that when he returned to Hong Kong after his long leave, his general health was suffering from the effects of chloride; and I entertained some doubt whether he might be able to resume his official duties, even at a later period.
The plan of treatment and discipline advised for his health had been beneficial; more especially as he had abstained from drinking and smoking, and I am glad to find that his health has greatly improved since this time.
